This year in the NFL, you are sure to see numerous rookies on the field which in turn means new NFL jerseys. Look around the league at all of the off-season transactions. photo credit: Aine D As the end of regular season is drawing near, these are the jerseys that i believe are going to be hot items for Christmas. I have not listed them in any particular order!!!!
1) Peyton Manning. One of the most well known name's in the NFL . He was the Quarterback that took the Colts to the Superbowl and won in 2006. Peyton is one of the best Quarterback's in NFL history. Peyton has played his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts. He has played in every game of every season except three this season. Payton may not be the greatest Quarterback in history, but I would bet the Colts would disagree.
2) Brett Favre. Probably the oldest still active Quarterback playing in the NFL today. Farve is widely known as the Green Bay Packers EX Quarterback. Farve played for the Packers for 16 season's very impressive. Today Farve still has a green jersey and it's still got a 4 on it, but it's a little different since he is now the Quarterback for the New York Jets, but true Farve fans still love him the same.
3) Matt Ryan . A rookie that has saved the Atlanta Falcons from yet again another horrific season. Matt has not only single handedly saved the Falcons, but made an impressive name for himself also. Matt and the Falcons are third right now in their division, but two good games and they could be sitting pretty on top. Never say never!!!.
4) Tony Romo. Most likely the most famous Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys since Troy Aikman. Romo is in his 6Th season as a Cowboy . Tony didn't start getting any playing time until 2006 where he started 10 of the Cowboys 16 regular season games. Romo and the Cowboys suffered, when he had a broken pinky finger and couldn't play. The Cowboys since Romo's return have proven why they are the most popular football team in the world.
5) Aaron Rodgers. The man that has to TRY to fill Favre's shoes!!!. Aaron and the Packers have struggled, but considering Aaron never played as a Quarterback since he was added to the Green Bay Packers in 2005, He has done very well. Yes Rodgers was under Favre's wing the whole time, but he never got a chance to prove himself. Well this year has been different . The Packers aren't doing as well as the Jets, but Rodgers is proving that he can be another great Quarterback.
6) Eli Manning. Having to always live in his big brother's shadow. Eli showed last season that those day's were over. Eli not only got the New York Giants a wild card spot, but went all the way through the playoffs to the Superbowl. And then to everyone's amazement won the Superbowl, the year right after big brother Payton won it. Eli and the Giants have already clinched their division this season and could very well wind up at the Superbowl again...
7) Kurt Warner. Having to basically win his spot to be allowed to play for the Arizona Cardinals. Kurt has done very well ever since doing so, taking the Cardinals to winning a Clinched Division. Warner has thrown 25 Touchdowns this season thus far and has passed for over 4,000 yards as well. Warner has proven without a doubt that the Cardinals made a very wise choice, and that he is thankful to them and God that he is playing as well as he is.
8.) Drew Brees . Saving one of the best for last in my opinion. Well actually as of this moment NFL Agrees with me, because he is listed as the #1 quarterback in the NFL. Brees and the Saints are last in their division, but by no means does that show the talent that is within the New Orleans Saints. Drew is very close to beating a very impressive record that was set by Joe Montana, for over 5,000 passing yards in a single season. Drew only needs 981 yards to beat Montana's record and the way Brees plays it shouldn't be very hard to do.
Sundays in the fall means one thing; football! Guys enjoy getting together with their friends to watch the games with great food and drink. Sunday is about the big plays, the wins and losses, and following your team! What is one great way to get into the spirit? You have to buy yourself some NFL merchandise!
