Tampa Bay Buccin’ up???
2009 Tampa Bay is cleaning house, And decided the Buccaneers needed a direction. And for the first time since the 1994 season, that direction won’t involve linebacker's Derrick Brooks, Cato June running back Warrick Dunn or wide receiver's Ike Hilliard and Joey Galloway.
Tampa and Carolina ran the NFC south last season, with Tampa only one game behind Carolina. Tampa has the team to beat, but when it rain's it pours. And that is what happened to Tampa last season... So is cutting these five key players a good idea? Tampa was a very strong opponent and without these five players, Will they be the last team in the NFC south this season? Brooks was the Bucs’ first-round draft pick in 1995 out of Florida State and immediately made an impact. He played in all 16 games as a rookie and started every game for Tampa Bay from 1996 to 2008. He was selected to 11 Pro Bowls and, in the 2002 season, helped the Bucs win their first Super Bowl championship while being selected the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Joey Galloway and Warrick Dunn are as much household names as Chevrolet and apple pie!! So is the direction in which the Bucc's are wanting to go south?
When you release five very special people within the organization, Are you asking for trouble? Only way we will know for sure, is too wait till next season and see what happens. As for the player that have been released, hopefully they will find their way to another team and continue to prosper. The future for the Bucc's is very questionable and we wish them all the best also.
But releasing these well known key players could also be a stab in the back, Warrick has played six of his twelve professional years with the Bucc's. So surely he known how the team plays as a whole, not someone you would want to have to face in a playoff game persay. Galloway on the other hand may not be such a threat, since he just finished his 14th season. Still if someone who is a Bucc's rival was to get him on their team, he might be a weapon to deal with.
Tampa has a tough division as it is, but without these key players they might have a little more trouble winning games. Or maybe with these players, their rivals might have the upper hand on defeating them. Either way it could spell death to the Bucc's.
