I want my Big Ben jersey now

2009

Ben Roethlisberger Jerseys    What is is that attract regular NFL fans to Pittsburgh Steeler jerseys. My guess would be the strikingly good looking colors of black and yellow with some white. Plus, all of the past Hall of Famers and all of the Super Bowl titles that they have won.   (more...)

What can be said about this Superbowl that can't be said about any other Superbowl?   Well for starters The Arizona Cardinals had never been there. This can also be said, if the Cardinals ever get another chance to be there hopefully they will play a little better and have a lot less penalties.

It was anyone's game going into this Superbowl. But it  destine to be a sixth win for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Arizona had impressed everyone with their win after win in the post season. Seemed as though everyone never thought they would even make it through the playoffs little less making it to the Superbowl.

Okay now to the Superbowl. It seemed pretty even through the first half, well until James Harrison's 100 yard interception return with no time left on the clock in the first half gave the Steelers a huge momentum swing going into halftime. Thus this was the beginning of the end for the Cardinals.
The second half came and the third quarter seemed kinda drab. Finally in the fourth quarter, Kurt Warner stepped up and showed everyone why he and the Cardinals were playing in the Superbowl. Warner hit All-Pro receiver Larry Fitzgerald in stride for a 64-yard touchdown. Fitzgerald sped down the middle of the field, watching himself outrun the Steelers on the huge video screen. Kurt Warner and the Cardinals staged a remarkable rally to go in front 23-20 with 2:37 remaining. But it was not to be because Warner fumbled in the final seconds, the Cardinals' dream of winning their first NFL crown since 1947 were gone. The victory that didn't happen because the Steelers are as resilient as they come. With the Fumble and five seconds to play Pittsburgh just kneeled and ran the clock out.
In a contest that was decided by a razor-thin margin, the Cardinals cost themselves a chance for their first Super Bowl title with 11 penalties for 106 yards. Even though Kurt Warner out performed Ben Roethlisberger, it wasn't in the cards for him nor the Cardinals to have a Superbowl victory. The Cardinals haven't had a Superbowl victory in 62 years.

PITTSBURGH STEEL ON TOP

2008

The Pittsburgh Steelers are still sitting on top of their division. It wasn't an easy thing to do, but in the last moments of the game Pittsburgh showed everyone why they where on top to begin with.

It was a battle from the start at Heinz Field. Ben Roethlisberger finished the game with 204 yards and a touchdown. Whereas Tony Romo finished with 210 yards and a touchdown also . Both had one fumble each and both also ran the ball themselves to gain yards. But it was the three interceptions that hurt the Dallas Cowboys. The last interception was the one that did the Cowboys in. In the fourth quarter with only 1:40 remaining Romo threw an interception ,it was picked off by Deshea Townsend. Townsend returned it 25 yards for a touchdown that finally gave the Steelers the lead in the game. It was also the final straw on the Cowboys back and broke them. The game ended with Pittsburgh wining 20-13.
It was a very defensive battle from the start, but the Steelers fought hard and believed in each other . They had a great victory playing against such a top - notch team, and they did it at home with all their fans.

Will Dallas Beat up on The Steelers?

The Dallas Cowboys have possibly their biggest game of the season with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Actually, every game remaining for Dallas is big. At 8-4 in the NFC East, Dallas can not afford to lose this game. Pittsburgh just happens to be one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now! At 9-3 in the AFC North, Pittsburgh needs this game as well. They have just a 1 game lead over surprising Baltimore.

The Steelers have the number 1 ranked defense in the NFL this year. They are coming off of a 33-10 blowout win over the New England Patriots at New England. I know that the Patriots didn`t have Tom Brady, but I think Pittsburgh was playing well enough to win anyway. Their defense is smash-mouth, hard-hitting and just plain nasty! It will be neat to see Tony Romo and Ben Roethlisberger square off this Sunday and see how each other`s defense respond. Either way NFL fans are in for a great game!
