Randy Moss has been an elite receiver ever since the Minnesota Vikings drafted him 21rst overall in the 1998 NFL draft. His leaping ability and his height, make him a daily nightmare for defensive coordinators throughout the league. Many knew he would be a star even from his playing days as a collegiate athlete at Marshall University.

Even though he was traded in 2005 to the Oakland Raiders, he continued to be a fan favorite. He didn`t stop setting records for receiving, which made people want his #81 NFL jersey even more.    (more...)

     Bo Jackson wore #34 for the Oakland Raiders and wore it well. He was know for his home run speed and his ability to knock defenders over with his massive muscle. He was a star in baseball as well, most notably for the Kansas City Royals. Bo was the Heisman trophy winner in 1985 at the University of  Auburn.   (more...)

    The Oakland Raiders had a horrific season last year, and are hoping to not have a repeat this coming season. that is why they have dug deep into their pockets to try to prevent such an event from happening again. How much is an all pro corner back worth?  Well to the Oakland Raiders it seems to be $15 million a year.

   
All Pro Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha re-signed with the Oakland Raiders today, avoiding the franchise tag by agreeing to a three year contract that’s thought to be the richest ever given to a defensive back. Asomugha, who’s heading into his seventh NFL season, is one of the league’s elite cover defenders. He was selected for the Pro Bowl and chosen to the AP All-Pro team last season despite getting just one interception because Oakland’s opponents rarely even dared to throw to his side of the field.

    Asomugha will return to a revamped Raiders staff under new defensive coordinator John Marshall and new defensive backs coach Lionel Washington. Asomugha made critical statements about the Raiders’ direction late in their sixth consecutive losing season, but acknowledged he probably would remain with the club because of the franchise tag.

photo credit: SD Dirk    Once again the Oakland Raiders had a chance to climb within their division, even tie for second. Except they could not stop Philip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson.

  At halftime Rivers had already passed for 149 yards, two touchdowns and even ran for  19 yards himself. Tomlinson had ran for 59 yards and even scored one touchdown. Vincent Jackson had also been busy with 122 yards receiving and one touchdown also. With this being said at halftime the score was (27-7). But in all fairness the Raiders Quarterback JaMarcus Russell had not been doing to well thus far. Russell had only 68 passing yards and went  9 - 13 passing attempts. Also right before halftime he was smacked very hard while throwing a pass, which was intercepted. The injury seemed to be with his right leg as he was carted of the field into the locker room.

  In the second half Rivers get another touchdown and another 65 passing yards to finish the game with  214 yards passing total. Tomlinson finished the night out with an impressive run with 91 yards total. Vincent Jackson also finish out the evening with  148 total yards receiving and one touchdown. The final score was a very impressive (34-7)

   The Raiders really never had a chance,but it really ended their shot of winning when Russell got hurt. The San Diego Chargers played to win and they did just that as they Charged right by the Raiders.
