The Detroit Lions were on a 2-year losing steak, until rookie Matthew Stafford and the rest of the Lions took down the Washington Redskins. Stafford who was the first pick taken in the NFL draft, did not disappoint the fans in attendance. They have literally waited for this day since his junior year of football at Georgia.
The headlines read that the losing steak was finally over, Stafford has arrived, The Lions finally win one, I think you get the point. Stafford has a cannon for an arm and his brief career has showed flashes of brilliance. If he can get some help from his defense, the Lions could be the team of the future.
So with this being said, you can imagine the demand for his #9 Detroit Lions jersey. He is now everyone's hero in Detroit, and even won over some fans from other teams. Should Detroit keep winning, the demand for his jersey will continue to increase.
I mean Detroit can not be any more worse than they were last year. Their one win against the Skins is more than they have had combined the last two years. I think his jersey will shoot up the ranks of best sellers if the Lions continue to win. Stafford isn`t going anywhere in a Lions uniform no time soon.
