Colts Horsing around

The Indianapolis Colts have finally decided to allow Marvin Harrison to be released. Since i can remember the names Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning have always been famous for the Colts. Harrison asked yesterday to be released, because his price tag was too high.

Marvin and the Colts are most recently known as the Superbowl Champs for the 2006 season. But Marvin hasn't done so well since then. Although he had an incredible season in 2002, Marvin has not been as productive since then. In 2002 Harrison had an amazing 143 passes caught record, but last season he had only 60.  Since in 2007 he missed all but five games, Marvin underwent off season knee surgery and returned last season to less than half of his NFL-record. Marvin is and always will be known as one of the greatest wide receivers in Indianapolis.

Harrison, 36, would have counted $13.4 million against the cap in 2009, the highest of any NFL wide receiver. Although the Colts wanted to restructure Harrison's contract, Releasing Harrison saves the Colts about $6 million, with about $7.4 million in prorated bonuses still on the books. Harrison is the second member of the Colts' original triplets -- running back Edgerrin James and quarterback Peyton Manning were the others -- to depart.
Well since the Colts have done what Harrison asked them to do, and saved such a hugh amount of money by doing so, Will this leave more playing time and money for  Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez? Only time will tell!!! Harrison doesn't believe his career is finished. He hopes to sign with another team, possibly as early as Friday when the free-agent market opens. Will this leave thing's horrible between the Colts and Harrison? I think not, since team owner Jim Irsay wants to re-sign Harrison again, one day, so he can leave the game as a Colt.
